John Ryan, MD, PhD
Dr. Ryan, PhD, MD is Executive Vice President, Chief Medical Officer at Kadmon. Dr. Ryan has more than 20 years of experience in drug discovery and development, including expertise in translational medicine and cancer biology. Prior to joining Kadmon, he was Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Cerulean Pharma, Inc. from March 2010 and Acting Chief Medical Officer of Cerulean from July 2009 to March 2010. Dr. Ryan held the role Chief Medical Officer at Aveo Pharmaceuticals, Inc. beginning in April 2006.
Prior to Aveo, he served as Senior Vice President of Translational Research at Wyeth (formerly Genetics Institute). At Wyeth, he served as head of the new Department of Experimental Medicine, which was created to explore new technologies, such as pharmacogenomics, in exploratory clinical trials, to work closely with FDA on clinical pharmacogenomics, and to bridge discovery and development with the creation of new biomarkers. Dr. Ryan served as an Executive Director of Clinical Research at Merck Research Laboratories. He served as Member of Scientific Advisory Board of Arqule, Inc., and as Member of Scientific Advisory Board of Expression Analysis, Inc. From 1977 to 1989, he was a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Ryan received his Bachelor degree from Yale University. He holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics from Yale University and an M.D. from the University of California at San Diego.

Dr. Laumas is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bearing Circle Capital since 2008. He has over two decades of experience in healthcare investments in both private and public companies.
Prior to founding Bearing Circle, Dr. Laumas was Managing Director with North Sound Capital from 2003-2007, responsible for investing in healthcare stocks globally. Earlier, from 2001 to 2002, he worked at Balyasny Asset Management focusing on US equities. Prior to that, from 1996 to 2000, he worked in investment banking group at Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
Dr. Laumas has served as a director of SRL Diagnostics Ltd., Asia’s largest clinical laboratory services company and as a director of Parkway Holdings Ltd. (IHH Healthcare: Singapore: IHH), Asia’s largest hospital company. Dr. Laumas received his B.A. from Cornell University, M.D. from Albany Medical College, and internship from the Yale University School of Medicine.
